Join us to learn how you can integrate technology into your classroom from teachers who do it themselves. Attend sessions to earn credit you can apply toward renewing your teaching certificate. Below is the full listing of sessions with descriptions. 

Monday June 4th

Quizlet, Quizizz & Kahoot...Oh My!

During the class we will look at these three different quiz-type websites/apps and learn their functionality. We will compare and contrast their abilities and uses in the classroom. Participants will also create their own accounts and question sets to use in their classroom.

Coming Soon to INFOhio: New Digital Content for your Google Classroom

Get prepared for the 2018-19 school year. Learn about the many new resources and tools coming to your school this fall. Learn where to get the latest updates and resources for your students & how to easily integrate them into your Google Classroom or Google Drive. Hands-on session with INFOhio content, introduction to INFOhio & G Suite, the INFOhio student book trailer publishing tool, Book Nook, and learn about new content coming July 1, 2018.

Exploring our World Through Virtual Reality
Start your summer vacation by visiting the Seven Wonders of the World, the 9/11 Memorial, The Great Barrier Reef or Space! This session will focus on the Google Expeditions app, Google Maps Treks and how you can integrate them into your classroom. Note: Google Expeditions requires a tablet, smart phone or iPod and the Google Expeditions App. Please install the app prior to class if you plan to bring your own. There will be a few to loan out for those who don't have one and VR viewfinders will be supplied. Computers in the lab will be used for Google Maps and does not require any special app.

Metaverse Magic

For years I have been a fan of augmented reality - fascinated by what experiences it can provide for the classroom that are engaging and interactive BUT I could never find a tool that creates classroom experiences for the content I teach that were purposeful and especially easy-to-use...until now! Metaverse is the AR tool that I can use to create content driven or even just fun experiences complete with graphics, sound, and other incredible enhancements. Never has an AR tool been so purposeful and rather easy to use with just a littlebitofpractice. Heard about AR? Experienced AR? Never knew how to make AR? You will after this class!

This session will go beyond your typical use of Google. We will explore the other great things Google has to offer such as Google Keep, Calendar and Sites. Whether using Keep as a personal to-do list or integrating it with a Google Doc for comments Keep will help you "keep" your lists organized. Have you thought about a classroom web page but not sure how to design it? Let the new Google Sites do the work. See how simple a website can be. This class will be "Great"

Google Classroom

Have you heard the buzz about Google Classroom, but are not even sure where to start? Explore the basics of Google Classroom, and learn to set-up, create, and expand your classroom by learning how to integrate this tool.

Classes are free for districts with PD contracts. Contact your tech coordinator or treasurer if you are unsure whether your district has a contract. Otherwise, a 2 hour class costs $30. 

The fee for Graduate Credit through Ashland University is $200 and paid upon completing course requirements.
