If you are ready to begin your Author Adventure, here are the steps to follow:

1.  Choose an author that interests you.

2.  Find a book written by your author that you would like to read. Try to find one that you haven't read before! You can always ask a teacher or a librarian for help on finding a good choice for you.

3. Print out a story map so that as you read your story you can fill in the important details.

4.  Begin researching your author. Print out the Author Information worksheet so that you can record your information as you do the research.

5.  Create a story board (or roughdraft) of your PowerPoint Presentation on index cards. See PowerPoint criteria to see what you need on each slide. For each index card, write down exactly what you will create on the slideshow.

6.  Show your teacher your storyboard. After it is approved, you can begin the PowerPoint slideshow. When you are done, practice for presenting it to your peers.
