INTRODUCTION
Sal recounts the tale of how she came to be locked in a car with her grandparents for six days.  This trip is really a gift to Sal from her grandparents.  It is an opportunity for Sal to walk in her mother's footsteps.  Sal hopes to reunite with her mother in Lewiston, Idaho in time for her mother's birthday.
Along the way, they travel to many interesting places, and with Gram and Gramps, life is always an adventure.  Travel with Sal and document her trip.  You will research the different stops along the way, collect pictures, explore the national parks, chart out the trip on a road map, check out the weather, and finally create an annotated scrapbook of the trip using the program PowerPoint.

TASK

Students will be placed into groups of four and assigned a job from the list below.

Photographer:  Your job is to gather pictures.
Meteorologist:  Your job is to collect weather reports and points of scientific interest.
Travel Agents:  Your job is to track mileage, map out the trip, and create a budget.
Journalist:  Your job is to record history or points of interest along the way.

PROCESS
Once students have individually investigated and collected their background materials, they will come together to create a slideshow scrapbook of their travels with the program PowerPoint.  They will present these scrapbooks to the class.
