Acme is a successful corporation located in Naturia, involved in research and development of genetically engineered (GE) agricultural items. The company has been good stewards of the land they control for testing. Their test plots are located near the community’s Wildlife Preserve. They now find themselves caught in the middle of a debate and are feeling the heat from groups in opposition. Acme has developed a corn seed that is insect resistant and provides the human consumers with an increased supply of beta-carotene, a precursor of vitamin A. Genetica would like to buy their newly produced GE corn. They’ve been called to the City Council Meeting.
